Pedestrian struck, killed by car in Raleigh

A Raleigh woman was attempting to cross the street late Friday night when she was struck by a car traveling eastbound. The accident, which occurred around 11 p.m., took place in the 1600 block of E. Millbrook Road.

The woman had traversed four lanes before she was struck in the far-right lane where she was supposed to yield to oncoming traffic. It appears the car made no attempt to avoid hitting her.

The police found the victim at the scene suffering from serious injuries; she would die not long after.
