HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The headmaster at SouthLake Christian Academy confirmed Thursday afternoon that one of its teachers was injured in a head-on collision on Highway 73.
The collision happened at about 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Beatties Ford Road.
Police say a pickup truck and a car collided head-on after one of the vehicles crossed the center line, police said.
One patient was transported to Carolinas Medical Center and another driver was transported to Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. C. Wayne Parker released a statement, saying, "At this time, our first priorities are to the teacher, the teacher's family, our students and our faculty and staff. We all are lifting in prayer this teacher and those involved and would ask others to do the same."
